THE LESSON C/1
Product #:The Lesson- A Harmonic Sculptural Interpretation
Music is a integral aspect of our lives and has touched our lives for centuries. Lessons have been taught since Guido D’ Arezzo made improvements in music theory in 1000 of the Common Era (CE). His work improved music theory and is known for inventing the musical scale we now know as: “do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti do”. It is common when there is interest in learning to play an instrument, “lessons” are a way to be improve.
This sculpture portrays the devotion given to teach a student, possibly a daughter, how to play the lute. Intensive sculpting techniques have been applied to show great detail in the instrument, folds in their gowns, faces, and the cording technique shown in their hands and fingers. The artist has used a semi-circle base to seat the musicians and the back has been sculpted with a band of classical roses. Music and flowers represent rejuvenation and have been included in music and songs for decades.
Our hope is you enjoy the joy of learning to play any type instrument.
