Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) is recognized world-wide as one of the greatest architects of the twentieth century. His work heralded a new thinking in architecture, using innovation in design and engineering made possible by newly developed technology and materials. His creative ability extended far beyond the border of architecture to graphic design, furniture, art glass, textiles, and decorative elements for the home.

Frank Lloyd Wright designed his Prairie style masterpiece, the Frederick C. Robie House, Chicago, IL in 1908 from his Oak Park Studio. This distinctive structure, which was commissioned by a local engineer, is renowned as a forerunner of modernism in architecture. The home, recognized by its deep cantilevered roof and no obvious door on its street façade, is punctuated by over 170 art glass windows which enhance its openness. Their color and delicate geometric diamond and chevron shapes are abstractions of the surrounding foliage. The design of this product is based on the art glass of a casement window identified as No. 51. The Robie House is a National Historic Landmark and open to the public.
